Hosted for the first time in China in AIPPI’s 127-year history, the Congress was held under the theme “Balanced Protection of Intellectual Property Rights and Innovative Development.” The programme featured nearly 100 panel discussions, workshops and committee meetings, offering delegates an opportunity to exchange perspectives on legal, technological and commercial developments influencing the global intellectual property landscape.Discussions focused on the growing impact of artificial intelligence, biotechnology and other emerging technologies on intellectual property law. Sessions also examined developments in China’s IP framework, the first year of the Unified Patent Court (UPC), and evolving approaches to trade mark use in the pharmaceutical sector, reflecting the increasingly international nature of IP protection and enforcement.
